The first high-end luxury shopping center in Hanoi
Nestled at 24 Hai Bà Trưng Street, right next to Hoàn Kiếm Lake and within a few minutes’ walk of the Old Quarter, Tràng Tiền Plaza is Hanoi’s premier luxury shopping destination. It opened in 2001 (built on the historic site of the old Hà Nội General Department Store) and quickly became Vietnam’s first high-end shopping mall, blending elegant French-colonial architectural cues with modern retail convenience.

What to See & Do
- Browse Global Luxury Brands
Trang Tiền Plaza houses over 200 international fashion brands, including high-end names like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Cartier, Bvlgari, Zegna, and Rolex. The first two floors are devoted to luxury fashion and flagship brand boutiques, while the third and fourth floors include cosmetics, jewelry, mid-to-upper range apparel, and accessories.
- Elegant Interiors & Parisian Vibes
What makes Trang Tiền Plaza more than “just a mall” is its architectural feel: wide atriums, European-style ornamentation, flowing walkways, high ceilings, and polished interiors imbue the space with a refined yet relaxed shopping ambiance.
It’s a nice contrast to the crowded streets of the Old Quarter—and feels more upscale, calm, and air-conditioned.

- Dining, Coffee & Entertainment
If shopping tires you out, head up to the 5th floor: here you’ll find fine dining options, cafés, and a CGV cinema.
There are several reputable restaurants and coffee shops inside the Plaza, making it easy to pause and refuel without leaving the building.
- Convenient, Central & Visitor-Friendly
Because of its location, Trang Tiền Plaza is a great “anchor stop” in a Hanoi day itinerary: you can shop or browse indoors, then stroll out to Hoàn Kiếm Lake, the Old Quarter, or nearby cafés and landmark streets. It also offers practical visitor amenities: parking, a customer service desk, and a clean, air-conditioned retreat from Hanoi’s humidity and traffic.
When I visited Trang Tien Plaza on a hot afternoon, escaping the Old Quarter heat into the glass-ceiling atrium was a relief. I wandered from boutique to boutique, trying on accessories, peeking into high-end watch stores, and pausing at a café for iced coffee and people-watching.
Later, I went upstairs for a movie showing in the CGV cinema: comfortable seating, cold air, clean restrooms—a surprisingly calm way to spend part of a city afternoon. Stepping back outside afterward, I felt like I’d had a “mini vacation” without leaving the city centre.
Trang Tiền Plaza works best when paired with relaxed walking afterward: visit the lake, stop for a Vietnamese dessert, and end up strolling the weekend pedestrianized streets nearby.
