    Flamingo Dai Lai Resort

    Travel Tips

    • Book ahead for weekends and holidays — this is one of Hanoi’s top escape destinations, and it can fill up fast.
    • If relaxation is the goal, choose a villa near the pool or beach club. If activity is the goal, go for a forest-facing or lake-facing villa with easy access to recreation zones.
    • Bring swimwear and hiking shoes — the pool and lake are major draws, but there are also walking paths and biking to be had.
    • Mix rest and action — schedule both “just sit and float” time and a chunk of time for kayaking, spa or art-walking. Flamingo is laid-back enough not to require your attention 24/7, but rich enough that you’ll want to wander.
    • Evening entertainment is an option, not a must — the VR park, karaoke or cinema are there if you want them, but a quiet dinner and early night are totally viable.
    • Go early or late for kayaking** — mid-morning and late afternoon light on Đại Lải Lake is beautiful, and fewer people tend to be out on the water.
    • If traveling with kids, Flamingo’s Kids Club, water sports and game zones make it a strong “all-ages” resort choice.

Just 40-45 km north of Hanoi and nestled around Đại Lải Lake, Flamingo is not just a resort—it’s a sprawling retreat that merges luxury hospitality with green architecture, artistry, and entertainment.
It’s ideal for travelers who want to escape the city without sacrificing comfort, variety of experiences, or aesthetic appeal. Flamingo has repeatedly ranked among the world’s most beautiful resorts, thanks to its thoughtful design, lakeside-forest setting and art installations woven into nature.

    What to See & Do

    1. Villas & Architecture

Flamingo offers an extensive villa system—from modest “forest villas” to sky villas, shophouses and luxury “President Villas” complete with private pools and butler services.

The buildings are designed with green sensibilities: open layouts, glass walls, greenery on balconies, and lots of wood, stone and natural light—making the buildings feel like part of the forest and lake themselves.

    1. Pools, Beach Club & Lake Activities

A highlight is the Four-Season Archipelago Pool and a system of heated outdoor pools, open year-round, perfect for relaxation or for families with children.

If you’re more active, Flamingo’s Beach Club offers paddle-boats, kayaks, water bikes, “banana boats”, canoes and motorboats on Đại Lải Lake. Or you can rent a bike and ride the lake perimeter, stopping for photo opportunities, lakeside cafes or simply enjoying the fresh air.

    1. Entertainment & Play Zones

Flamingo is strong on entertainment. The Forest in the Sky building houses a VR Game Park, a Legacy Game Center, a children’s Kids Club, and a Wonder Park outdoor play area for younger visitors. There’s also a cinema, karaoke rooms, and a large sports club offering tennis, cycling, billiards, table tennis, and more.

    1. Spa, Wellness & Dining

Flamingo operates SEVA Spa & Beauty, one of the largest and most well-equipped wellness centers in northern Vietnam. Treatments range from classic massage and sauna to more advanced therapies and rejuvenation packages.

Dining is also a strong point: you’ll find multiple high-end restaurants (like Bamboo Wings and Poem) offering both Vietnamese specialties and international cuisine in beautifully designed spaces.

    1. Art & Nature: “Art in the Forest”

One of Flamingo’s signature features is Art in the Forest—a curated outdoor art exhibition scattered through pine groves, along walking paths and in galleries. Sculptures and installations by Vietnamese and international artists give the place a gallery-garden feel.

I arrived mid-morning on a weekend, motivated by a need to “get out of Hanoi”. Within 40 minutes I was winding down a forested driveway, greeted by open-air villas framed against the lake and pine woods. After checking into a villa with a balcony overlooking trees and water, I headed straight for the Four-Season pool, letting myself drift in warm water and watching clouds roll over the lake.

Later, I rented a kayak and paddled quietly across Đại Lải Lake, pausing at a small island to take photos of herons and the forested shoreline. Back on land, I walked through the “Art in the Forest” trail, spotting sculptures tucked between the pines and peeking through glass-walled galleries.

Evening brought a memorable dinner at the Bamboo Wings restaurant—wood-and-bamboo architecture, soft lighting, and good food—followed by a short VR session and karaoke. At night, the resort felt calm, and in the early morning I heard birdsong instead of traffic. Flamingo felt like a luxury retreat that didn’t demand I leave my phone behind—but made me want to.
