Traveling overnight by train from Hanoi to Lao Cai, you’ll save time and wake up ready to explore Sapa’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant hill tribe culture. Trek through terraced rice fields and valleys, visit ethnic minority villages like Lao Chai, Ta Van, Cat Cat, and Sin Chai, and enjoy warm hospitality in a homestay or comfortable hotel. ITINERARY
Night train Hanoi to Lao Cai:
7.30PM car picks up at hotel in Hanoi and transfer to the train station to get on the night train to Lao Cai. Spend the night on train in a deluxe cabin (shared 4 berths/cabin, air-conditioned)
Day 1. Lao Cai – Sapa (B, L)
Arrive in Lao Cai early morning, meet our guide and take 1hr car ride uphill to the beautiful town of Sapa. The ride gives you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. Upon arrival in Sapa town, have breakfast at local restaurant. The rest of morning to walk around Sapa town, discover colorful ethnic market. Lunch at beautiful restaurant.
After lunch, prepare for a great trek down to the picturesque valley of Muong Hoa. We will walk on small paths and trails to reach Lao Chai and Ta Van Village to visit the Tay and Dzay tribes then keep going along the bottom of the Sapa valley. Late of the day, our car transfers back to hotel in Sapa (or check into your homestay accommodation at the village). Dinner at your own and overnight in Sapa.

Day 2. Sapa – Hanoi (B, L)
Get ready for our new fun & informative day. You first sneak through the market and leave the busy town behind. After a couple of minutes, you will follow a road going down hill to Cat Cat village. You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station. Take a rest here before you trek downhill to get Sin Chai village. Get on car and drive back to Sapa town for lunch. Free time in the afternoon to discover the town by yourself.
16.00 transfer to Lao Cai station for overnight train back to Hanoi.
Arrive back to Hanoi early morning following day around 4.30am, taxi to hotel on your own. Tour ends.

- Train cabins are shared (4 berths); private cabins available on request.
- Trekking paths can be muddy/slippery in rainy season (June–September). Sturdy shoes recommended.
- Weather is cooler than Hanoi: light jackets are useful, even in summer.
- Early hotel check-in on Day 1 is subject to availability — request in advance if needed.
- Homestay option gives a more authentic cultural experience; hotel option offers more comfort.
