Highlights of the North Vietnam

Day 1. HANOI ARRIVAL (D)

Arrive at Noi Bai international airport, welcomed by our tour guide and transfer to your hotel in the Hanoi center. Enjoy delightful Water Puppet show – a unique performance art of Vietnam. Dinner and overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2. HANOI CITY TOUR – Train to SAPA (B, L, D)

Start the Hanoi tour by visiting Ho Chi Minh complex. Enjoy the architectural and historical aspects of Uncle Ho’s final resting-palace. Just next door is Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts where he used to live in the past. Lying to one side of the Mausoleum is the One Pillar Pagoda built by King Ly Thai To in 1049 the structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi. Continue to visit the Literature Temple and Quoc Tu Giam – Vietnam’s first University constructed in 1070. Its gardens and well-preserved architecture offering a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past. Have lunch at local restaurants.

Afternoon, choose one from the numerous museums or temples around Hanoi  (Museum of Ethnology, Women’s Museum, History Museum, Hilton Hanoi or Quan Thanh Temple). A late afternoon walk around Hoan Kiem lake and Hanoi’s fascinating Old Quarter for some great fun, shopping and street side traditional food. This is your chance to be part of typical Hanoian style and its traditional Vietnamese culture. Dinner at restaurant then transfer to railway station for overnight train to Sapa.

Day 3. SAPA (B, L, D)

Arrive in Lao Cai early morning, we will take 1hr car ride uphill to the beautiful town of Sapa. The ride gives you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. Upon arrival in Sapa town we have breakfast at local restaurant. The rest of morning walk around Sapa town, discover colorful ethnic market. After lunch, prepare for a great trek down to the picturesque valley of Muong Hoa. We will walk on small paths and trails to reach Lao Chai and Ta Van Village to visit the Tay and Dzay tribes then keep going along the bottom of the Sapa valley. After that our car will wait and transfer back to Sapa for overnight

Day 4. SAPA – Train back HANOI (B, L, D)

Get ready for our last trekking day. You first sneak through the market and leave the busy town behind. After a couple of minutes, you will follow a road going down hill to Cat Cat village. You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station. Take a rest here before you trek downhill to get Sin Chai village. Get on car and drive back to Sapa town for lunch. Free time in the afternoon to discover the town by yourself. 16h30 transfer to Lao Cai station, have dinner at restaurant then get on train for overnight back to Hanoi.

Day 5. HANOI – HALONG BAY CRUISE (B, L, D)

Arrive back in Hanoi early morning, our car transfer to a restaurant for breakfast and relaxing.
8.00 Depart for Halong City, a 3-hour drive through the Red River Delta to Halong City. Comfort stop en route for photos and coffee before arriving to Halong City. We then board on a traditional wooden sailing junk for a cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Halong Bay, giving us the chance to take in the stunning scenery of this World Heritage Site. While on board we will be served a sumptuous fresh, local seafood lunch followed by a swim and kayaking to explore some of the limestone caves in this area. When the sun comes down we drop anchor for the night nearby a remote island. Overnight on boat

Day 6. HALONG BAY – HANOI (B, L, D)

Watch sunrise on the misty bay, take part in Tai Chi class. Continue cruising around the bay and enjoy the impressive views of Bai Tu Long Bay, Bai Tho Mountain and the city overview while having full breakfast (Brunch). Disembark at Halong harbor and drive to back Hanoi. Dinner and overnight in Hanoi

Day 7. DEPARTURE (B)

Free for last minute shopping around before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
End of services.
